At the start of the game the Rats induced a wizard and a blitzer with Wrestle.
The Dwarves got the opening kick and started moving their cage downfield. The Dwarves had great difficulty doing more than stunning rats, but were helped by a few double 1's rolled by the dodging Gutter runners. The Dwarves were obligated to score on turn 7 even though it would give the rats 2 turns to answer since, they were outnumbered (10-9), some of the dwarves were not close enough to the ball to help protect it, and there was a wizard waiting to disrupt the dwarves.
The rats attempt at an equalizer appeared to end when the Rat Ogre quickly ended the turn. However, while most of the team was gathering around the RO for a foul a long beard decided to blitz a gutter runner. This GR had sidestep and was a chainpush and 2 GFIs away from the endzone, which he managed to get to with the ball. At least the RO was out of the game due to a BH from the foul.
The second half started with a quick score by the rats followed by a dwarven cage (after a bit of a scare following a Blitz!). The dwarves were worried about the wizard so tried to spread out. When the fireball came, not enough dwarves were knocked down to allow the rats a chance to pry the ball loose. The dwarves were able to tie the game to end the half, sending it into overtime.
It wasn't looking good for the Dwarves when the rats won the toss. However, a Blitz! allowed them to put a lot of pressure on the rats. The rats were able to set up a pass play, but the sun in the thrower's eyes resulted in a fumble. A brief scuffle knocked the ball out of bounds which was then thrown into the middle of the field, where many players from both teams were gathered. After a scrum, the ball scattered to a Troll Slayer who managed to catch it. The dwarves were able to cage up but since the rats were not leaving the pitch the dwarves were in for a tough time scoring. The ball carrier was able to make it downfield with limited protection which the rats were able to go through or around for a shot at the ball carrier. The sidestepping shadowing GR was next to the ball carrier with limited time. Fortunately for the dwarves, a 3 die frenzied block was able to get the necessary POW, freeing up the troll slayer so he could walk it in for the win.
