Good fun game. Norse received the kickoff and were able to sprint a few guys downfield towards the endzone. The Dwarves that were fast enough to pursue tried to stop them. However, the norse were able to push it into the endzone after threatening to push a Runner into the crowd. With 5 turns lest the dwarves were determined to tie the game. It was slow going for the dwarf cage and near the end of the half the norse were able to knock the ball loose effectivly ending the drive so the norse were able to take a 1-0 lead into the second half.
With a full half to score the Dwarves were confident they could get it done, especially now that the infamous lawn mower was making an appearance. During the first turn the Deathroller driver overestimated the effectiveness of Break Tackle and knocked the machine over near a pack of norse. The norse took this chance to gather round and foul the big machine out of the game. An exchange of casualties actually left the norsemen with a 10-9 man advantage. They used this to start to apply pressure to the cage, pressure which excerted itself with some blocks on the ball carrier. The big attack came (about 6 dice of blocks) and while the dwarven ball carrier was left standing he only had norsemen next to him. He did have a clear running path and managed to get away even though he had to dodge away from the diving tackler. At this point the wheels totally came off of the norse's car. Everything that happened resulted in a norsemen leaving the pitch. Attempts at blitzing the ball carrier in the open field ended with failed dodges or GFI which injured norsemen. Dwarven blocking went into overdrive and got more norse off the pitch. Only 4 norsemen were available to take their 1 turn drive at the end of the half (all 5 guys in the KO box refused to wake up). To start the half 2 guys woke up and the apoth patched up another to bring the total up to 7. The dwarves won the toss in OT and kept up the pressure, sending 4 more norsemen off the pitch while cruising into the endzone for their OT win.
